Erika/AlynianaYour Crusaders are stirring up Mischief at Mugwarts in the all-new permanent campaign! Debuting with 6 tricky objective to try, can you muster the magic? To go along with the new campaign, there's a special promotion! 5 magical Crusaders (if you've unlocked Wendy the Witch) have a buff to their powers this weekend! As well, you can pick up unique chests which will have a selection of gear for just those 5! The special buff and the sale run until Monday February 29th at Noon PST! |

NoOneOnEarthJust wondering, what references will you be making next?
I'm currently enjoying my time at Hogw... I mean Mugwarts. |

ErichNice! Since this looks permanent, I'll wait until I have a stronger build to even attempt it.
Will Khouri's golden epic be available after the weekend event is over, for regular jeweled chests in the store? |

Missy LenoirYay, thanks for more to do! I'm off on 400 currently and have Khouri's GE. I like the idea of small groups for items with rl money. This grouping wasn't my favorite lineup, but gave me something new to work with. I don't care to gamble the money to put Emo over Sarah (who currently has a GE and top damage with it) since she's still easier to work with, but I can see this putting him back on top for others.

kjbdsWell done devs, I really like the 5 random char buffs that give you some really fun new lineups. And the way to get gear for event crusaders is quite nice. Moar please :)

ZeroTakenakaI'm hoping that you're not gonna go down a slippery slope of releasing EVENT GEAR through these campaigns.

thedudeWhile I agree with Zero, I would add "...solely through these campaigns." I will be highly upset if you announce that the only way to get event equipment outside of the event is to pay real money for only a chance of an event drop.

ZeroTakenaka@thedude Yeah, that's what I meant to say. This can be a thing people would quit over.

Smash10101Is Mugwarts a portmanteau of muggle and Hogwarts? If so, am I too old to go?

RokuLast Edited February 27th 2016 at 4:07 AM I guess I'll chime in too. It kind of does feel like they're going overboard with Golden Epics and Pay-to-win lately. I don't mind it when stuff can be attained in the long-run through hard work, but all of these cash-shop exclusive overpowered items are getting kind of ridiculous and feel like they're breaking game balance with them all added up, especially since many of these bonuses multiply.
Of course, this is coming from the perspective of someone who bought some chests a few times just to support the game because I enjoy it and want the game to do well. Maybe there are some people who will only spend money if they get a huge boost, but aren't loads of jeweled chests enough? If this game goes too far down that road, I'll probably still play it as long as I'm enjoying it, but I won't be recommending it others anymore. One more thought...since they're all timed, might these Golden Epic sales eventually become counter-productive? Who wants to join a game late when you've already missed out on so many powerups that can never be attained again? Why pay money for new cash-shop exclusives if you can't collect them all? Edit: Perhaps this ended up a little more critical/harsh than I would have liked. I just enjoy this game and don't want to see it go the way of Adventure Capitalism which has lost a tremendous amount of support from its hardcore community in the last month or so. It's extremely negative over there now. |

ErichI do agree with aspects of what Roku said. With that, here are a few thoughts:
* The time limitation of certain premium items is a bit... well, I'll put it this way. If I knew I had access to purchase a cool gold epic for longer than the time frame normally provided, I would feel better about it. For me, it would become more of a "I want that item, and I want to support the game", rather than a "this will go away very soon if I don't pick it up now". The collector aspect is also a thing to consider, like Roku mentioned. What if buying a jeweled chest pack gave access to choosing from multiple gold epics from the shop? It would allow them to stay longer, and provide a nice choice for new players. Just a thought. * This isn't a suggestion so much as it's a question: would you think it would be balanced if, for mini-events like this, regular silvers turn into the mini-event jeweled chests? Same rate and everything (what is it, a 1% chance?). Since it's a very short run, it may give a viable alternative for folks that can't pay. All that being said... I do understand how difficult it is to create a balance between good free content and doing this as a source of income. So any and all effort put into that is greatly appreciated 8^) |

SupervisedI disagree with the " It kind of does feel like they're going overboard with Golden Epics and Pay-to-win lately".
1. it's a single player game; there is no competition between players; the fact that other players are doing better than you because they paid should have no effect on you whatsoever. 2. if by win you mean completing every objective, one still needs tens of thousands of idols to do that, GE simply facilitate your course. 3. regardless of you like it or not, a game relying only on people who "bought some chests a few times just to support the game" is not going to be profitable especially when the devs update the game content so frequently (which I really appreciate!) |

thedudeActually, Supervised, you are wrong about point three. The majority of income on a free to play game almost invariably comes from the three to five per cent of players who spend an average of about $5, not the tiny fraction who spends thousands.
I feel that they did make a little mistake in making it jeweled chests you can buy and not rubies, because if it was rubies, they could have introduced more mechanics that cost rubies, and that would have encouraged the conversion of free players to paying players. |

Erika/AlynianaGlad everyone is enjoying the new campaign.
- @ NoOneOnEarth: The sixth campaign is TBD. @ Erich: Sorry, the Golden Epic is currently only available this weekend. Thank you for the other feedback as well. We did email everyone on the newsletter a free chest though. @ ZeroTakenaka: This is one way of introducing event gear again, but we are still working on the free player option for more gear. This promotion is just an experiment. @ Smash: You're welcome to attend. I had suggested Mugworts (the herb), but it ended up Mugwarts. @ Roku: The Golden Epics only help players to get a few more areas and Idols, and if you are paying for power, you might as well get some. We do have other plans for gear for Crusaders, possibly Legendary items, and we're not sure how the Golden Epic rotation will look. You could argue that missing a Golden Epic is just like not being around for event Crusaders, and so you need to get creative with the Crusaders you do have to make your progress. @ thedude: Rubies will still just be for normal Jeweled chests at the moment. If we do make changes to ruby use, we will give the player base a long heads-up. |

Supervised@thedude
Let's see if your theory is even remotely plausible: let's say 4% of the players spend on average $5 on this game, in order to pay for a developer's salary (assuming $70,000 per year), how many players would you need? Let's say we need x players, the game has been around for half a year, so that's $35,000 for a developer's salary. x*0.04=35,000, x=875,000 players. You need 875k players just to pay one developer's salary (let alone profitable), in reality, you also need to pay the artists, tester, manager, so you would need to at least triple the number, which makes it 2.6M players. They would need roughly 2.6M players by now in order to pay the staff, according to your theory. Really? |

Raymondincome is not all from people paying into the game, there's advertisements and other revenue sources too.

Supervisedand employee base salary is not the only thing employer needs to pay to keep a company running.
Even if the income from players is 50% of the revenue, you'd still need 1.3M players. You are not off by 2x or 4x, you are off by order of 1000. |

Missy LenoirEarlier today some of us noticed that the leprechaun doesn't count as a magical being for the objective. I can buy the elf not being even if they ARE normally portrayed as such... but the leprechaun?! Everyone knows they are magical.

Erika/Alyniana@ Missy: The restrictions say "select" magical and supernatural. Objectives are meant to be a challenge. You do still have the Gold Panda.
