Thanks for the report.

From your description, it sounds like you received this quest prior to a reset on a run where you were quite deep.

Since this quest bases the amount of gold you need to collect on where you were when you received it, it's best to finish it before doing a reset.

In order for it to progress again, you will need to head to the area where you were earning D or T gold again.
