ElharithFollowing Habermas, this forum thread is created for guild members and the general SOT player membership to explore information about the guild, Be Still (short name), as well as topics of mutual interest to guild and general game players. Read here for information about public spheres: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_sphere
As such, the guild, Be Still, is constructed in accordance with Habermas' criteria: 1. Disregard of Status. In Be Still, all guildies are elevated to officer status as soon as they demonstrate activity in one or more of the following ways: a minimum guild contribution (10), progress in the game (daily check-in and leveling up), and/or participation in guild activities, such as chat, MP runs, or discussion in this forum. As officers, all guildies have the ability to recruit other players, and are protected from being kicked by anyone other than the leader. As lead, Elharith concerns herself with protecting the rights and privileges of all guildies, in order to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to express opinions in guild, and have a pleasurable playing experience. 2. Domain of Common Concern. The SOT game is our domain of common concern. Here is a place where guildies and other game players can express their opinions, unfettered by criticism, about their game experience, and how they believe it benefits them, or could be improved. We encourage the discussion, while likewise requesting everyone to refrain from personal attacks (ad hominem) in their posts and discussion. Respectful listening and inquiry accomplishes more to move the game experience forward than mere criticism. If criticism is offered, please accompany it by a suggestion for how you would improve the thing you criticize. 3. Inclusivity. While the guild, Be Still, is comprised of a certain number of members, it is our guild mission to be as inclusive as we can in our play. This means we invite other SOT players to guild runs; we participate in non-guild MP runs where needed or requested; we offer rescue assistance where availability and skills allow; we congratulate all players on their accomplishments, not just our own; and we invite all SOT players to engage in this public sphere and town hall located in this forum. In an effort to generate inclusivity, Elharith regularly interacts with other guild leads and members in order to get to know those who are in other guilds. She also encourages Be Still guild players to do likewise. Other guild information: We offer a mix of advanced level players and new players. Our advanced players are devoted to helping new players develop their skills. For this reason, we believe Be Still offers the best playing experience available to new players in the game. We offer frequent communication from lead to guild players to keep all players apprised of current happenings within the guild. The lead, Elharith, has an open door policy for all players to contact her about any in-game (or even non-game) concerns, and for this reason accepts all friend requests. We recognize that game drama happens, but we promise to attempt to keep it to a dull roar through communication. Questions? Concerns? Comments? Bring it up here, or contact Elharith. Happy gaming. |

ElharithThe rumors are afoot, so I am here to lay them to rest. After much discussion and negotiation, Be Still and Hell Raisers have agreed to a merge/partnership arrangement. Since we neither one were inclined to kick players, and Be Still has a significant number of new players who we are trying to help learn the game-- which has been our primary focus--Dudemanly and I have decided that Be Still will become the designated "training" guild for Hell Raisers, where players will be assisted by senior players from Hell Raisers and Be Still, to act as mentors, to develop "younger" players to level 30. At that point, priority will be given by Hell Raisers to players who want to move to HR from Be Still. If a player in Hell Raisers needs to take an extended leave of absence, there will always be a place for that player in Be Still. (And, the final names of these guilds is still open to selection by the players in both guilds. I am just using these names because they are the current names for the guilds.) Further, Hell Raisers will no longer actively recruit new players to the guild, but will recruit them to Be Still, since that will be the "training" guild for new players.
While it was our desire to house all of us under one roof, in one guild building, the physical constraints of the game structure would not allow us to accomplish that without alienating someone, and we had no desire to alienate players who are individually known and valuable to us for many reasons. We felt this arrangement accomplishes the goals of a merge while meeting the individual needs of all our guild members. As far as the practical elements of a merge are concerned, all current level 30 players in Be Still are being given the option to move to Hell Raisers or stay in Be Still in order to demonstrate our joint interest and desire to work together going forward. For this reason, Elharith will move to Hell Raisers, and her primary alt, Marie, who is currently in Hell Raisers, will move to Be Still, and take over leadership from Elharith. (If it makes things easier, just call me El Marie going forward!) (Thanks to Nanoc for coming up with that idea.) :) Please, if you have questions, concerns, or comments, bring it up here, or contact Elharith or Dudemanly. Also, thanks to Khale for instigating enough that Dude and I started thinking along these lines. |

ElharithJust an overdue update.
New guild names for our partnership: Still Hell Raisers (SHR), and Raising My Soul (RMS). At present, with the new guild upgrades, both guilds are level 3, and are in the top 10 of the current guild wealth and earned points. Kreds to all our players who have worked very hard to achieve these things. We also have room for people looking for a guild that promotes teamwork and good camaraderie while having fun playing the game. Contact our principle recruiter: Khale (SHR) or Max Wood (RMS) to discuss joining either guild. |
