Question......boyfriend has some epic kits that he created and was going to use as an upgrade for one of his epic items, but it would not allow him to do so. Is this not in effect yet, or are they used for something else?

Hi Melanie,

The level-up kits are for increasing the level of your gear, so if you have gear with a required level of 28, and you're level 30, then you want to improve your level effectiveness rating by leveling up your gear.

The Epic level-up kits aren't needed yet because Epic gear is currently found with required level 30.

Once the Jungle content is released along with the new level cap, then you can choose to upgrade your Epic gear with the level-up kit to keep it around longer instead of tracking down 10 new pieces when your character levels up.

Question, if we lvl our current lvl 30 gear up to lvl 45, will it be as strong as the new lvl 45 gear will be?

Hi Dansonage,

Yes. Leveling up doesn't just multiply the values on the gear, it actually uses the allowed stats for an item at the new level.

So...

You're basically saying an epic item at level 30 will be the same as an epic item at level 45 (after it's been levelled up), and there is no purpose in saving frags for new max-level epic gear?

If there is no purpose in saving items for tactical 'item-management' reasons, then there is no purpose in buying a larger inventory or saving items for the future.

If the items gained in the game are solely based on time invested (ignoring the pay-to-get-ahead option), a new player will NEVER (EVER) be able to catch up to longer-standing players (unless the longer-standing player stops playing or the newer player spends their way up to their level)... because from what is being suggested here, you are taking away all the tactical options and removing any skill in 'item-management'.

For example; everything in the game is limited... so with two players that complete everything, every day, the only thing that divides them, on a competitive level, is if one of them has been lucky enough to find a better item. - You seem to have taken away any possibility of any tactical management or tactical advancement... I mean... it's not even a 'time-management game', it's just a 'time-invested'- game? - I dunno, everything recently is moving away from this being a "game". - The most important definition of the word "game" is when it includes the word "competitive".

As this game is expanding, you're moving away from this being a 'game', and more into a 'collecting hobby'... and by doing that, you're destroying the fun a gamer has with a natural instinct of playing a game to be competitive... And just turning it into an anorak's collecting hobby (like train-spotting or stamp-collecting).

But for some reason, I'm still here, and still playing... so *rant over*

EDIT/UPDATE:

It seems like the only tactical part of the game is in-battle (and the battle gameplay experience is below average)... Where you are required to re-spec to use the best skills against a particular set of enemies... However, this aspect of the game is locked behind a pay-wall, requiring you to be subscribed to VIP in order to re-spec per-battle.

Unique or otherwise differently sourced Epics will be different. Hall of Trials and Paragon Gear will be the same once leveled up.

Games of this nature - where you get better over time - are by there very nature trading time investment for power. A new player shouldn't expect to catch up right away, nor would that be fair to the long time players.

On the tactics front battle formation effects are coming up soon in the todo list.
