I dont actually know how the last mp exploit fix was handled, as i couldn't find any information in here, notes in game, and news in game as well. But i suspect the cost of an mp try was added and thats it.
Which ruined the whole join-while-in-mp update and I'm really sad about it.
The (which is NOW clear) unintended no cost of instance for helpers worked miracle for this game as in current state.
First of all - it did what it was supposed to do - it gave the incentive for strong players to help less expierienced players finish their mp runs (when they struggled).
Second: it also gave incentive for strong players to join the mps for ppl looking for the group, as these days its as much hard (if not harder) to find a group for your type mp and exact tier, than to deal with actual challenge in mp.
I was in both camps (the helper and receiver of help), so i felt really bad that in was not intended feature.
Most players will never help some groups, who can't otherwise complete a team or struggle with already created mp, if they will have to pay full mp price (instance cost) and for that will receive - well, yeah, lets see what the receive for the cost of full mp:
- some mp, which is probably not the type and tier which they prefer
- some loot, but no frags (which are THE SOUL of mp runs these days)
- very high chance for less fights (therefore not full loot, breakables etc.)
- paragon tokens (if its above normal).
- satisfaction for helping others.
Well and if they dont help.. for the cost of full mp:
- mp they prefer, tier they prefer
- more loot because above, full frags
- all fights
- paragon tokens (usually the same or more, than while helping
Ok, they miss the satisfaction for helping others.
Guys, you realize most of the players are not here for charity reasons, don't you ? :)
It's nice to help someone, but it's best when there is something for the one helped AND some for the one helping. As it stands, there's nothing but loss..
Also the paragon gain is the perfect as reward. Paragon shows dedication, while it does not increase your power as much as frags do. It is tiny reward as stats increase, but can be big as the dedication reward. Also that's why selling paragon for dollars feels so wrong.
Please consider the above. I understand that the extra loot gains from extra mp runs might be too much. But what if u would remove all loot for the helpers, and keep paragon gain and no mp charge for help? That rewards everyone, as people who would help would be haappy enough to do it, also would be much easier to find some players for your mp, and the strugglers could be helped as well.

Word goes that they 'fixed' it with charging an MP instance. And it's true, no word as they invented it and no word about how they altered it at the last update.
As you said and as I said in the post in Andaho's thread I also think they didn't fix it, they spoiled it.

Don't sell Paragon tokens but revive the feature. The few BH tokens that they may have earned were hard work and showed real dedication to the game not just that your bag is full money. It's not that anyone ran 1000 T1's and got 3000 tokens.

I use to help weaker players but like it is now I join them before start not in progress. They spoil an instance by overestimating their power? Not my prob. Let them spoil their instance, come back to town and we can run a new one.

I also noticed that people now don't dare to ask someone to help in progress because they don't want anyone to spoil an instance. The only MPs where the helper could get some loot out of it are Forest and Desert because there are at least the 2 chests. The bounty MPs have nothing except fame...

I case you missed it from the other thread:

"Being able to join an instance in progress was a requested feature. When we released the heroics I started receiving reports that some players were quitting leaving the group unable to finish without a full team. Letting players join mid instance seemed like a very reasonable way to address this.

It was not intended that being able to do this would not cost the use of one your instances. As I think most of you are aware of (as I can see from your discussion points around making the most of your runs) every system in the game from campaign missions to the hall of trials work on the idea of exchanging daily allotments for rewards and items that move you forward. A core system like multiplayer suddenly not using a daily allotment while still giving up to the full rewards should stand out as unintentional. Especially when its a brand new feature. I think a lot of you caught on to this, but if not this description of how the system works should help in the future."

And:

I am currently thinking of adding something like "Join in "Assist Mode" free to join, no normal rewards, gain an "Assist Token" (better name needed) for completing it. Then trade assist tokens for minor consumables or maybe a specific set of clothing items. Basically just a cool way to show off you like to help others."

I read every word of the other thread and I don't think that continuing this one make any sense, as whats there covers (as u noticed) all I raised here. So i guess this forum thread is ready to get locked.
