Did you try replacing the x with an *?

Google gave me 23 for your equation flowerladytoo.

Thank you, Erika!! I tried it with exactly what I copied and pasted here, and it wouldn't give me a solution, instead it gave me a graph and census numbers...go figure. When there are that many parentheses, this old brain starts to get confused. I will try that solution right now!!

Does any one know where the entrance to the secret area for the Ice lake is located? I have been trying to find it and BW2 wiki is not helping. I do not see the flags that show where the entrance is.

@Andrea, Warp to Ice Lake Area, just below you there will be 2 purple flag posts, walk to the right and bump in the ice cubes until you get to a snow patch on the right then go up to enter the SBA.

THe ice Lake Sba is in no way ever one of the SBA's for the explorer club lockboxes. That is the one and so far only unnumbered one (only has a name), and as such no equation in the world can come up with this one.
Are you perhaps reading the Wiki wrong? Every sba has a bullet number that means absolutely nothing and a name which in all but one case is sba number xyz.

I got 1X((224/4)-37) and it comes out to 19. The wiki said the it was the Fishermens Ice lake, but now the wiki says its the mountain peak. I did not see the SBA# on the list of secret areas, and there is no need to be rude with your answers. Thank you for your time.

SBA #19 in The Mountain Peak
is perhaps the 20'th one listed but is not sba #20

the wiki states this thusly:
*The list is numbered according to the order a new player would come across the secret areas and not the area's titles, even though they have numbers. This way, in the end of the list, we will be sure about the total number of secret bonus areas in the game.

Raymond is correct.

'19. "(Unnumbered)Ice Lake Secret Bonus Area" in the Fisherman's Ice Lake*

20. SBA #19 in The Mountain Peak"

Don;t look at the numbers at the beginning, read the SBA # number.

20 onwards are always 1 behind or thereabouts.

Maryanne: if you (or any of the rest of us) are entering the equations into a search engine replace the times symbol "x" with an asterisk and see if that helps - the search engines apparently think they're algebra equations if there are letters in them.

Oh yeah...I came up with 11 for yours...

To Gayle: Do't give up the quest because of one condescending twit. People who excel at math don't seem to grasp the concept that some of us can't do it without pencil and paper and/or calculators....I read on the BW wikipedia page for this quest that the equations can be entered into google or other serch engines to get the solutions, BUT if you do that you have to replace the old-style times symbol "x" with an asterisk or it'll think you're entering an algebra equation....the slash "/" is the newer symbol for division.

273/((23-22)+6)= 39, according to Google. :-)

You do not HAVE to enter the * for most of the equations, but you MUST leave spaces between the "x" and the numbers for Google to read it properly. Type it EXACTLY how it is written in the quest description and 99% of them will work out fine. The * is a failsafe way though, and I added that info to the wiki page.

Sheldon: Thanks for the clarification! As I think I mentioned in my BW wiki post (I'm the one who went to school when dinosaurs ruled) I've never excelled at math and algebra literally left me in tears...when I tried copying/pasting equations (figuring that was the best way to ensure accuracy - ha!) if there was an "x" things got squirrelly (dang near triggering algebra flashbacks), but once I put in the * things went smoothly. Never thought about inserting spaces, though...thanks again!! Blessings upon you...

Kelly: According to Bing
(81+(1050/((37-(79-43))x7)))/7=33

This was my head-scratcher this morning while I was drinking my coffee. I eventually had to write it down and number the parentheses so I could follow it since it went across two lines on the screen! Finally got it! Phew!

11 + ((((51 - (2 * ((2 * 15) - 21))) - 32) * 4) / 4)
