TsukasaWMSo, I'm not part of Kindred, but I saw this pop up on the front page and feel like I need to weigh in this. I think a lot of people are fairly easy to dismiss something like this as an over-reaction but I don't feel that's entirely fair. I've taken a few of the more specific, disorder related psych classes in the past and the thing you have to realize is that unlike something like Psych 101 which very generally touches on the subject of certain topics some of the higher level classes go into much greater detail. These often include more then just a text description of what happened, they might have things such as pictures, videos, phone calls, interviews, drawings, etc. Seeing things like that on that detailed of a level isn't easy, it's not a feeling you can really describe to someone who hasn't experienced, and contrary to popular belief is not something you become desensitized to. It's something that sticks with you and can be set off by something as simple as an item in an online game. Keep that in mind before you so easily dismiss something
That said however, I can understand and sympathize with El on this, I can agree with the others in that something that personal goes beyond what should be posted as a rant on the forums and should be discussed with the devs directly. Further, I don't want to be that guy, but if this is something that cause that much of a problem for you, you really should schedule some time to speak with someone. If you're still in school they can help direct you towards someone that specializes in dealing with these types of issues, or if you're working in that type of a field it's not uncommon for them to have a list of people you can see. |

ElharithTsukasa,
Thank you for explaining what I was having trouble explaining. Andaho, Kindred was founded in drama. Life is drama. I am learning how to embrace mine. I will apologize if it goes over the top, but cannot promise "no drama." Wank, I am 58, and was in college when they were first invented. It was not the existence of them so much as it was the "collection" of them that bothered. 'nuff said Jo, When I feel it is the right time for me, I will be back. |

AndahoI recently offended/annoyed 2 people on 2 separate occasions, and made them feel like they had to leave the guild... I meant no offence to anyone, but I've always been very outspoken and say what I feel - But I highly respect other people that express their opinions, and very often 'agree to disagree' on controversial subjects.
I like people that challenge me... I want to hear other sides of an argument, and try to understand it. I kinda feel that neither of those people would have left the guild if I wasn't the 'leader'... They might have just complained/ranted about me, or muted me... I never wanted to be the leader of a guild, for this exact reason... I think I'm often too strident to be a good leader, and I often take things to extremes. I just wanted to be in a guild that respected all of it's members as equals, a guild that belonged to everyone in the guild, not 'owned' by the leader... but just by being the 'leader' many people still look at me as being 'in charge', and expect me to be wholly responsible for the guild, when I'm not... I'm just not afraid to step forward and organise things when something needs to be organised and nobody else is stepping forward... But I'm very happy to follow when someone else 'takes the lead'. I'm not a good leader because I want to be myself, and not feel that I can't say things because I'm 'the leader' of a large guild... Now this is the big question... Who is going to step forward and take leadership of the guild from me? - It needs to be someone that wants to do it, someone highly active, and understands the responsibility of simply being 'the name' that is the leader of the guild... Perhaps we could also let this guild thread die off, and the new leader could start a new one by copying the original post? |

AnnieIn the next episode of "The Kindred"... Elharith is back to fight another day, Xena gets the Secret Area chest, Andaho is torn if he should or shouldn't lead. Drama intensifies as those just casually gaming are stormed by this new wave of events.

JomaleAndaho,
You are the best suited for the role. A true leader is willing to admit their mistakes. You have shown that you are a true leader. You have the energy for the role, are very verbose, and who else has as much time as you and devote as much time as you in the game to monitor what is going on. I say we leave things as is. You are a great leader! Jo |

AndahoLast Edited February 27th 2015 at 6:52 PM lol... it's only as big a thing as you make of it :D I don't see it as a big drama...
But I do feel bad, and see it as damaging for our little community if me being 'leader' is driving some folks away :S I have no intention of quitting the game, or playing less... I'm not actually looking for any support or reassurances that I'm doing a good job. As I said before... I honestly never even wanted to be a leader of a guild, I just felt forced into it, because no other guilds had the structure I wanted to be part of... Since founding the guild, I've been patiently waiting for someone (nearly) as active as myself, to be enthusiastic about taking the leadership... But it's never happened :D ----- Edit: Added loads more info. |

Saenz FamilyIf you end up with an opening I would be interested in joining your Guild as the Guilds I have been in do not seem to be moving at all and it is hindering my playing. My ingame name is Jaime. I try to play daily but life interferes occasionally where I may miss a day or 2, but lately I have been able to make enough time to play daily. Thank you.

AndahoWell... With nobody keen to take over the title of leader, I'd like to go back to passing the leadership around to the most active and long-standing members.
There were problems with it in the past, because of the need to kick inactive members to recruit new members, with the leader being offline, and all members being officers. That issue is now fixed with the since introduced policy of demoting officers that hadn't logged on for a while to member, so they could be kicked by any officer when required. Also some guild building cooldowns were missed while the holding leader was offline. But now the 'kong featured game' rush of new players is long past, and guild buildings are almost maxed with massive cooldowns, I think we should start casually passing the leadership around the most active and long-standing players again :) You might be reading this wondering "but why?"... I just don't like people thinking of The Kindred as 'my' guild... It's 'our' guild! and passing the leadership around is a practical way of showing that :) |
