ElharithLast Edited April 10th 2015 at 11:02 AM David,
I appreciate the move towards making a non-shardium locking ability for reforging, as well as how to make slotting rods more attainable. I believe someone earlier suggested that there be something like slotting rod "parts" that you could get in missions that could be used to craft a slotting rod, and I know we discussed that possibility in guild. I believe any move towards both of those things you identified would be welcomed by the community. |

AvyctesAs a player who quit a couple months ago I will say only this.
Reforging with shardium is simply a bottomless pit for players to throw money into, a shameless one. I recognized this when you put it in, foolishly struggled on for a few weeks believing, stupidly, that your previous statements about disliking pay to win would turn things around. But then you added more and more pay to win options and I simply gave up and left. You seem to think that your local version of pay to win is somehow different, judging by your replies in this thread. I can only shake my head at that and feel sorry for you. I thought checking in after a couple of months might show me that your game had improved, I might even start playing again. How wrong I was. |

David Whittaker (CNE Dev)Avyctes,
You are of course welcome to have personal opinion. I think we do compare positively to many of the free to play games in this genre. A lot of them are very P2W. They are translated games that are brought into the North American market with the intent of just making more cash. We have a very small and very dedicated team (just look at the staff page on our website) who cares deeply about making a fun to play game while working under the constraints of free to play. We do have to contend with the bad rep that many games in this genre have of being too P2W. Since it is actually quite difficult to P2W in Shards - we have tried when we need to bump up a character and found actually its not possible - I can only guess that the negative feelings come from experiences in other games and the fear that we are heading in that direction. A lot of interesting and in many cases actually doable ideas were brought up in this thread. As Elharith points out we have taken a step forward on getting some of them implemented. And I definitely through out called out some suggestions I really liked. Getting everything in is going to take time for sure. -David |

AnnieActually, this is how one determines if the game is pay to win - just take a look at this:
http://gyazo.com/f14252174db552e76746a800b098989e Everything can be bought, even Paragon, which before was the only true reflection of players' dedication. The reforge lock is another joke. It's still as rare as slotting rods to me and the most people I know. |

David Whittaker (CNE Dev)I don't think continuing this discussion at this time is productive. Perhaps after the next few updates we can have a more positive and productive discussion about some of the features that get added.
