Raymondp.s. there is quite definite harm giving it people who do not 'deserve' access to the flux. They would forever, and i mean forever NEVER play the actual mainline content of the game. And that would also perhaps be the case if flux access were available to 'us' when there is actual content to be had.
case in point, bw1 auction house became available to people and many people took perhaps months longer to do anything cause they wasted all their gold and gems. did the same thing happen here in bw2 with the island casino? don't know cause nobidy's talking about that |

TsukasaWMLook, the blog asked for out opinions, I gave mine. Everyone is trying to make me into the greediest ***hole on the planet for giving an honest opinion. I don't think it's a completely unfair one to have, but I'm not going to sit here and repeat the same things over and over for 5 pages. Apparently differing opinions aren't wanted here, so whatever.

Raymondanyone who has reached the flux, WILL within the course of this current long wait till the next area possibly do EVERY one of every prior flux that they had not ever done yet. If not this time then most definitely next time. there are only 120 puzzles, we do several dozen flux puzzles every time we are in the flux waiting zone.
now as to other things said, the rewards for the flux are the rewards for the dlux, so what? we worked for those rewards. If you are in the first zone, the forest, there are so many great hats and swords and so on in the mountains that you can't have till you do the mountains, and so on for the desert and evergreen and swamp and ice mountain and haunted forest and tropical island and agrabush and jungle and mines and castle and underwater and volcano and mushroom forest. DO you want every casual player to instantly have access to everything in every one of those zones too? the glux is like a zone, you reach it, you have limited time there, the first first time anyone is there that limited time really limits them and they might not even get the 8 trinkets, but the next time they do S.E.V.E.R.A.L dozen if not hundreds of flux puzzles. period even for us non casual players this update is only a short term distraction. BUT it does allow us to not be bored by the same puzzle |

Raymondi did misinterpret a little of what you asked for. I see you are in the flux, good for you. if this id your first time there then you don't know that if not this time, then next time you will have time and time again to get every one of the currently existing 120 fluc trinkets. sooner or later you will be doing flux puzzles for dust only cause there will be no trinkets left anywhere for you.
not exactly sure what you mean by 'casual', I am casual perhaps cause I never buy energy for cash, I am perhaps not casual cause I play 3 or 4 times a day, I never let my energy mac out, i never have has a single crop wither. as a note to others, as Jason said, if you are not in the flux and want to get there asap, well don't do any of the existing 59 secret bonus areas, don't do any of the current 14 Nates distractions, or any of the existing 9 Kaine sidelines, don't do any Hermit quests when you are past the evergreen (I do every one every day myself even still with this update), and you can actually skip one half of evergreen (do only upper or lower) and you can skip one quarter of the swamp (do only east or west), so 2 squares, 8 fields, 24 puzzles there, perhaps don't even build any Commons buildings, perhaps don't do any daily repeatable quests at all even. those last two are possibly not at all valid. play every day, play many times a day, have every trinket slot you can and every rune slot you can, and every crop plot you can, and use them efficiently. perhaps do not buy trinkets you will never use so as to have gold and gems for things you will use asap I love these multi page discussions. |

FinieousLast Edited November 24th 2014 at 12:02 PM ---- snip ----
"Another aspect, which you may not fully recognize, is that the end-game you're asking for (without playing the game to achieve it) is something that most end-gamers have generally felt was a chore (as Marci said). Your assertion that it's a bad thing (i.e., it sucks) to alleviate some of that chore is not going to be received well." Where have I ever said this? I fully aknowledged that this is a great update for the flux and does make it more worthwhile. ---- end snip ---- TsukasaWM, you said this in your first post. Quote: "On another hand, this SUCKS for the more casual players." All-caps is mine for emphasis. It stood out (to me at least), and is what prompted my initial response. Yes, you've shared an opinion. It's an opinion that some people consider controversial, so you should expect there to be conversation about it. Opinions that one isn't willing to discuss are kind of pointless -- might as well keep them private. The conversation is how your opinion is validated and spreads to others. Most people have been fairly cordial in the conversation... :) |

TsukasaWMThen it was a fault of how I worded it. I'm not saying the update in and of itself sucks. My issue, to be clear, is that the update is tied to something that more casual players may have difficulty accessing and lose out on the benefits of.
I have no issue discussing this point of view but we're not going anywhere either. I've outline several times why I feel it's a bit disappointing, I've offered several suggestions of ways to make the content available to casual players while still giving an advantage to the more hardcore players. No one wants to discuss any of that. Instead its, "Nope. I don't like, it's not how WE had to do it. Get the **** over it" Did I expect this to be controversial, **** no I didn't. I didn't expect people to freak out so bad over a suggestion that essentially doesn't effect their game play in the slightest. |

BlujiI think it was a good thing this was discussed, considering that it does basically only affect people in the endgame. TsukasaWM, I'd like to ask you one question, though: what do you mean by a 'casual player'?
So, I started thinking: since you can now access each Flux, what if there was some sort of a transition space where you unlocked new teleporters to each Flux as you completed the content related to them? You'd be allowed to waste all your time in the Fluxes if you wanted, but doing that could slow you down a lot as in early game it'd take quite a while to get the 144-piece puzzles done. |

jpl77IMO if casual players were allowed to complete any Flux prior to reaching end state of the game, they would only further delay their game progression. Considering every Flux puzzle is now 144 pieces, and low level puzzles are approximately 36 pieces, said casual player would take months to finish a single Flux. At max level and playing fairly regularly it takes me a 1-3 days to do a single Flux puzzle.
Casual players would just fall further and further behind. |

RaymondI think he is casual, yes, but I think he means something different by that then we think. I.E. Maybe plays perhaps once a day or not even that often.
I think he is in the flux, I think this is the first time he got to the flux. I just think that he sees 15 sets of 8 fluxes (120 trinkets) and says, no way can I do that in the one month left before the next update comes out. Not realizing that there's no reason to do ALL those NOW, many can be done now, and many more after finishing the next update, and more after the next update after that (if he even has any old flux puzzles left to do by then), I know I won't and will only have the 8 flux trinkets of each update by the end of this year. so simply dusts after that, sure in older fluxes for the boredom relief. This update is a short term newness thing for us non-casual players, and even casual players who are in the flux. UPDATES come months apart. I think I did 100+ fluxes last gap before the mushroom forest. |

RaymondLast Edited November 25th 2014 at 5:38 PM then I'll repost something I said earlier: "the Flux is for people who reach the end. You have not reached the end so no flux for you, period. WHY is this even an issue?"
the flux if for people who play the game and get to the flux, if today is your very first day playing bw2 then you'll get to the flux in about a year and a half, P.E.R.I.O.D. or more exactly "when you finish all the actual content of the game other them the optional sba's Nates and Kaines and actually qualify for the flux", but at present there are 15 zones, about 60 fields, about 700 puzzles. Do those and THEN you will qualify for the flux, no sooner. you want them to give you a gold medal for just showing up? nope, the game is not run by weiner sisyass millennials. that's what's going wrong with this generation and my country. do you also want instant access to the mushroom forest even if you are only in the first forest? |

MiserableFailure ManI love this update. It is great. I also love that pet, but not as much as the one I want. :) Is it weird that I am tempted to see how high I can get the more nothing percentage?

TsukasaWMMy guess is that it's CNE due to the logo splitting Code and Name into two words in their logo.

MiserableFailure ManMy guess? It could be "CNE" just because "CE" does not sound as catching. So, taking advantage of the fact that it could be either "Codename" or "Code Name".
