The School Cat's Cat-tribute grades do not affect your puppy's bonus. They are only for the quest, and they do not carry over from year-to-year. Your puppy's cat-tributes do two things: Increase the daily quest rewards, and contribute to the final grade at the end of the main quest, which dictates what rarity of DNA you get.
