Justin Stocks (CNE Dev)Last Edited January 13th 2012 at 11:02 AM Hi folks! New update today:
Our first content update of 2012 is now available, with new content for both mid and high level players. To start, there are four new zones to explore and complete for level 60+ players who have finished the Desert City. Check with the characters in the Ruined Outskirts for more information. In addition to that, there is new level 110+ content for players who've found a certain horned animal for a certain spoiled member of Bushwhackia's royal family. Check the Haven Castle after you've completed the earlier content. Aside from the new content, we have also spent some time improving the World Map. Quests inside sub-zones, such as the Underwater area or the Mad Scientist's Castle, will now show up on the transitional zones on the world map. This improvement should make it easier to track down quests you've forgotten to turn in, or daily quests you've yet to do. Have fun! Update FAQ: Q) I'm level 110 and went to help the king, but he doesn't have a quest. A) You must do the new level 60+ content (starting at Billy in the Ruined Outskirts) before the 110+ content will become available. Q) What's the difference between a blue ! and a yellow !? A) Blue marks above an NPCs head means the quest is repeatable after a certain amount of time, while yellow marks denote a one-time quest. Cheers, - The DJArts Team |

Nate DauerLast Edited January 13th 2012 at 10:55 AM Does the "new" 60+ content refer to the crypts?
If so, does that also prevent the 4 new zones from appearing? http://forum.djartsgames.ca/?thread_id=905 Perhaps I should just refresh again to see if that makes a difference... |

Nate DauerLast Edited January 13th 2012 at 11:00 AM OK, I refreshed and found the quest. HOWEVER, Billy only had a BLUE ? mark above his head, not a YELLOW ! mark (nor a flashing 'switch' between the two types).
The quest entailed walking up to the new blonde guy and receiving xp just for talking to him. Surely that's not going to be a repeatable quest? |

Justin Stocks (CNE Dev)Did you have a quest to turn in to Billy? ?'s will always take precedent over !'s.

Nate DauerI did, but in other areas after the update I've seen NPCs with flashing "switches" between the different types. Namely, the underwater mermaids, I figured the "switch" was something new and intentional.

Jean DavisLook for a yellow ! inthe Ruined City. You should also have what looks like rainbow-colored ice cream on the top left of your screen...click on that for more info.

Justin Stocks (CNE Dev)Hi Nate,
You probably just didn't have the latest version of the Flash at that point. You shouldn't see that nymore. Hi Jean, Those are not new quests, no. Hi Lisa, Head to the Ruined Outskirts outside of the Ruined Desert City to get started. Talk to Billy the Dig Leader. Cheers, - Justin |

RaymondHere's a Bug.
I have a ? over my Blacksmiths head. I just started ALL the Quests that he has and I do not have any for him that I can cash in. There should be no symbol there, right? |

Justin Stocks (CNE Dev)Thanks for the report, Raymond. I'm going to load up your account for a second and check that out, so if you get a 'You are not in the right zone' type error, that's just me and not a new bug :)

RaymondI guess your Blue and your Grey look the same to me.
I probably wouldn't have done well in The Civil War. |

Jean Davis@Justin - I don't remember seeing Protecting the Corn or Fine Dining as Daily Repeatable Quests, except when I did those zones initially, or I would have definitely been doing them because they give Questor's Tokens.

RaymondLast Edited January 13th 2012 at 6:17 PM Jean, there are 5 quests for those Questor tokens, one in each of the 5 mini-zones except of course the Crypts. Just about nobody can do them every day since mid November, they are very energy costly, about 3,000 Energy each.

Jean Davis@Raymond - I have been doing thr Frogs, the Potions & Flowers for Lucy daily, but today was the first time I had seen the other two quests...or I would have been doing them also.

Nate DauerLast Edited January 13th 2012 at 9:34 PM btw, when I scroll over the "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum" quest on the map, it does not highlight which subzone it is in. When I did this with other quests, such as the "Thanks for all the fish" quest, it *did* highlight the ocean. Eventually, I managed to recall where I had last seen the giant, and I found him a couple guesses later (he was in the ocean).
This is fairly troubling, as the giant is arguably the most problematic repeatable quest in the game (in terms of locating it). |

Justin Stocks (CNE Dev)Hi Nate,
I noticed that as well. I'm going to try to figure out why Fee-fi-fo-fum isn't highlighting when I get back into the office on Monday. I'm not sure why it's not, as the treasure chest quest does highlight sub-maps correctly. - Justin |

RaymondJean, those 2 are easy to forget since they take an exact amount of Energy whacked to get a spawned thing, just like the big Thanksgiving and Christmas quests.
But you probably did them while opening the 8 Crypts gates simply because those gates required a multiple of 5 tokens to open. i.e. the first 2 gates could use a days worth of tokens each, the next 2 was at minimum 2 days each, then 3 days each and then 4 days each. http://forum.djartsgames.ca/?thread_id=165 http://forum.djartsgames.ca/?thread_id=473 http://forum.djartsgames.ca/?thread_id=77 There is someone doing every quest every day, and I think that she specifically mentioned not doing those 2 in particular. If it were me, those 2 are what I'd do and I'd not do the other 3. The exact predictability in energy needed is a benefit, but I think those take roughly twice as much energy as the other 3. P.S. Jean, you seem to acknowledge 5 repeatable quests in one of those topics. But perhaps you had not had all 5 of those mini-zones done, or perhaps had not started the Crypts in order to start those 5... |
