Nickshire (CNE Dev)Hi Mary,
An HTML5 version of BW2 would be a great option to maintain the current experience, letting BW2 continue to exist on browsers phasing out Flash Player. Unfortunately, the development costs of porting BW2 in HTML5 aren't feasible for us right now, which is why we're looking at other options, like a downloadable version. Sincerely, Nick |

AnubischickLast Edited September 30th 2019 at 6:44 PM Well I can't see myself continuing to play if downloadable is the only option. The advantage of browser based is the ability to play anywhere and given the time based objectives in the game only being able to play from one place at one time won't work.
There are a couple of other games I play that are flash based and the developers have created a browser add-on to allow for continued use, maybe that is one idea? If not, hopefully I'll finally make it to the flux at least once before the shutoff :) |

Nickshire (CNE Dev)Hi Anubischick,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Could you tell us which games have implemented these browser add-ons? If not here, then in a support ticket to us perhaps? We'd like to investigate their solutions and see if they're a fit for BW2. Sincerely, Nick |

AnubischickHi Nick,
no problem...if it's ok to mention the 'competition'. Enixan who have Dreamfield /Fantasy garden have a chrome extension. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/enixan-allow-flash/jiaenphjccljpjpmenjhofgabhldfmob?hl=en Cheers AC |

AnubischickTeri I think they would be no problem porting the account to a downloadable version. How is facebook handling flash games? I don't facebook in any way.

FlybabyI have played on POGO.com for years, and I remember when they converted all but one of their Java games to Flash. Now they are converting a lot of their Flash Games to HTML5.
Here's a link that explains what Java, Flash and HTML 5 games they have, and how to sort/filter them by Tech. I don't know if CNE can do the same, but I thought it might be worth posting. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Pogo-Classic/List-of-Flash-amp-HTML5-amp-Java-Games-on-Pogo/td-p/5914564 You can now sort all Pogo's games by "Tech". Go to Pogo.com, Select All games and then on the left hand side click on the technology of your choice - Flash / Java / HTML5 We currently have 69 Flash games, 1 Java games and 41 HTML5 games. |

Horsedancer1Last Edited October 4th 2019 at 3:00 PM I transformed from BFG but it sure wasn't painless. Long learning curve for me. Hope this transition will be easier. :D

AnubischickSee chat isn't that big a deal for me, I'm not opposed to it and at times I can find it useful, but if it went away I personally wouldn't miss it. I understand how some others here find it integral however.
That being said if the game becomes downloadable only I hope that an option to disable chat is available for those who do continue on with it. The advantage of a standalone game is just that, it can standalone without a constant need to be online. |

DStodg736I like to occasionally use chat to talk to other veteran users. Wouldn't cry about it though because we have these forums and several others online. I just want to keep my playing streak or get a big reward for having almost 2 years (I know many players have much more daily log ins than that) or be able to continue my daily streak which I find likely won't transfer. Otherwise, as long as I can transfer my FB account to the downloadable version and keep my stats, progress, etc I will be more than excited. If any beta testers are needed i'm more than willing :D

AnubischickI don't see why you wouldn't be able to keep the daily count going, after all you'd need to log on to the servers at least once a day to enable getting friend gifts/gifting friends and updating quests, new content etc.
If the chat is indeed being part of the new process, then an 'always on' system seems to be the one that the devs are looking at, which is another reason why I won't move over. The playstyle of the game as it currently stands won't work with a single point/time of contact and I really object to having something on my system constantly connecting back when I'm not actively online myself. |

Horsedancer1Good point Anubischick. I just do leave the game on as it takes so long to load with my slow wifi speed. The only internet I can get where I am is 7 Mbps and it would be nice to play without having to always be connected to wifi.

Ex_BubbleheadAll this talk about a downloadable client. Will this client be available in a Linux version as well for those of us that don't use Windows unless forced to do so at work?

Russel DentonLast Edited October 13th 2019 at 8:02 PM i made a suggestion, about this topic, and i think it was misintepreted, so i will say it again more clearly, here it is:
earlier this year or late last year BFG or some game platform shut down and the devs then made CODENAME ENTERTAINMENT, and those players moved to CNE, so why not move the players who play on facebook, and move their accounts ( for BW2 ) to CNE too, happy to hear folks thoughts |
