I wrote a bit more about it on fanta(http://www.fantamondi.it/cotli/recommendation), you should check it out, there are a lot more suggestions/ideas there as well(since I'm not sure who you have, hopefully someone's post on there contains crusaders that you have).

I had ~90 million idols when I did it, and I didn't have langley or imani, if you have both/either of them you probably have a pretty good shot at it. Also, I had sent roborabbit off on a mission, so I couldn't use them. But if you put them in your formation, and then just use your normal DPS to charge him, you can breeze through the harder areas. You can just let the enemies kill the sorcerer and then the restriction that you can only get DPS from the phoenix will be gone. I think a few of the posts on fanta go into more detail about how to do it.
