Not appreciating "Cow Appreciation Day"
70 Posts	Link to post - Posted July 16th 2018 at 1:36 PM mythago Not a bug but the Highland Cow mount being in the wandering Amicus vender for 250 Bush Bucks is ridiculous. The Flying Shark mount from the Shark Weekend event and the three companion Soccer Balls from the Football event are only 200 with those having been available as free earnable awards during their respective events. Not only was it not announced this would be a premium mount but it is more expensive than any other mount offered by the vendor. This would have made more sense to have simply listed this as a premium mount for a limited time like the Flying Megalodon mount during Shark Week or to have it as a purchasable item from Clint in the Commons for mount bucks. It feels like a cash grab to hide the fact one of the cows was going to cost $25 by putting it on a vendor that rotates out in a series of ten random vendors. On a related note, Cow Appreciation Day said there were supposed to be three mounts but we are now up to five total (not counting the cow mount in the flux store).

Mounts are more powerful than pets, having 8 bonuses to a pet's one bonus, which is why they are more expensive. As a stand-alone item, mounts would cost 300 Bush Bucks, versus pets at 200 Bush Bucks. That's why getting a free mount for a 100 Bush Buck purchase or more weekends is a very good deal. Since the cow does not come with bonus speed, and in fact makes you slower, because it is a cow, we've given it a discount of 150 Bush Bucks, so it's only 250. The original 3 cow mounts added in the update last week, along with the coupon code, were the Cow Appreciation day items. The additional 2 cow mounts were added because players requested those colours of cows, and thought that the Sanctuary Store should have been the seller of a mount, since the owner has cows in the pen next to his store. Because recoloring isn't super difficult, and our current artist Georgia loved the colours suggested, we did a quick turn-around on adding those missing colours to the game on Friday as per the patch notes, which can be found when we update on the blog.

Everyone was so excited and once we learned the cows were permanent, we were even happier. It was fun trying to find them. I'm glad they are in different areas of the game.. I've got a ways to go to get to one of them. And I'm glad they cost different thing, because that means everyone can find at least one they can afford. I'm not much into mounts, prefer to spend my real money on pets because I like collecting them. So I'm not likely to buy the 250BB mount.. but that is okay.. that is my personal choice. I usually get the premium mounts on the first day of events when they're on sale with BB. That is a Fantastic deal all the time. I really think CNE is super generous to us. I wanna say it is because they love us..hahaha. They give us tons of freebies all the time. I'm totally fine with not having every single item available. That makes what I do have more valuable to me.
