90% sphere fail for achievement..

Lvl 440 "Other Peoples Problem Solver!" 5565 Posts	Link to post - Posted January 7th 2018 at 4:58 PM Raymond the real hint, spend lots of cash as you need lots of 90% spheres, one per try. i manage to make a 90% once a month and have tried so many times i lost count. p.s. i assume trinkets, pets, mounts and swords do not matter (this is not whacking afterall but those somehow do impact non whacking things like fishing and casino gambling) but have tried with naked odds also.

I try to get runes to says 5% chance with the 90% spere but It always says 100 % chance to win.. NO pets etc etc etc are not in consideration for this..at all... Ty for reply....will keep at it.

Lvl 440 "Other Peoples Problem Solver!" 5565 Posts	Link to post - Posted January 7th 2018 at 5:52 PM Raymond no rune combine can have 100% chance. the chances range from 95% to 5% which is for from 2 crafted base runes to any combination of 20 crafted base (i.e. 1+19 or 2+18 or ... 10+10 at the time these last 2 are combined). when you have the most powerful combination with 5% chance and put in a 90% sphere you are trying what this achievement wants and you do not 'succeed in failing' more often then not. you can test out how often a one in 20 chance is, just combine two 3 day 3% small runes, 19 times out of 20 they combine, but one in 20 fails. of course this is just a test, the achievement is for doing such a thing with a 90% luck sphere too and that can only be tried as described above,

Or, how many times they tried..to achieve it. I will keep trying but, if it says 100% chance with the 90% sphere.I will not continue to use the sphere...it is a waste..Soooo,,.I will try other runes...and see...if I can get % lower with 90% sphere equipped..(not 100% chance but 5 % chance).. So...on that note I will put it on the back burner and try again later in few days etc... tks for info...
Lvl 440 "Other Peoples Problem Solver!" 5565 Posts	Link to post - Posted January 7th 2018 at 8:34 PM Raymond you must, MUST, start with a 5% chance and add the 90% sphere to make 95% anything else is not just wrong but is simply wasting a sphere and gold of course (but also of course giving you a rune you will use). read up on my comments below the runesocketing page of the wiki. use ONLY crafted BASIC runes such as energy, gems, gold, mane or power. NOTHING else is possible (actually nothings runes (plain void) is also a value one rune and can also work. Use 2 runes made up of those crafted ones, say a 1 and a 19 (built up from scratch of course), or 10+10 or as my comments suggest for low cost big runes. it still is going to cost a lot of gold and most always will make a 60% rune that lasts from 18 to 31 days depending on the intermediate steps. only when the combine at 95% fails will you get the achievement, and still have your 2 ingredient runes that you still will need to combine even after getting the achievement since it only makes sense to do this in conjunction with making runes you actually will use. the people who got it got it because there is a chance, a one in 20 chance on one attempt to get it, a one in 10.25 chance with 2 attempts, one in 7.01 with 3 tries. Lets say i tried it 10 times, that is likely, and i failed to make it happen all those tries, there is a 1 in 2.49 chance it should have worked, 40%, but my luck was against me. and some got it cause they bought 90% sphere after sphere till it worked. could work first time or could take dozens to hundreds of tries as my graph shows. p.s. i do this every month, mostly of course without a 90% sphere unless i have one. u would have said more of this earlier but i thought you knew the basics of runes and that for something using x+90 to fail it can;t be 100% thus x HAS to start as 5% only, anythin else i repeat can't possibly do it sorry for the rambling

Lvl 440 "Other Peoples Problem Solver!" 5565 Posts	Link to post - Posted January 8th 2018 at 8:41 AM Raymond like i said, i have tried over 10 times, lost count, but can say none of those attempts were wasted as some of yours seem to be. if the chance of the combine with a 90% sphere is not 95% then it can't ever happen. just want to reiterate that as sometimes in chat you seem to not understand some things said. perhaps there it's just fast chat info passing as opposed to here where one can read and reread over and over again.
